Six experiences for your weekend in Verona.
Spritz in Piazza delle Erbe
Arrive, drop your bags, step out. In ten minutes on foot you are in the liveliest piazza in Verona: Spritz at the counter, frescoed palazzi, sky turning electric blue.
Juliet's House and Giardino Giusti
The most famous balcony in the world is 450 metres away. Continue to Giardino Giusti, the 16th-century Renaissance garden beloved by Goethe and Mozart.
Wine tasting in Valpolicella
A 20-minute drive to the Valpolicella cellars for a tasting of Amarone, Ripasso and local wines among vineyards and rolling hills.
Opera at the Arena or romantic dinner
From June to September, opera under the stars. In other months, dinner at Antica Bottega del Vino or the trattorie a short walk from the suite.
San Zeno and the antiques market
The Romanesque basilica with its medieval bronze panels and, every first Sunday of the month, over 200 antiques and vintage stalls in the piazza.
One last ritual in the wellness
Sauna, chromotherapy jacuzzi, silence. The wellness is exclusively yours until check-out, no rush and no other guests.
Verona always gives you a reason to visit.
Verona is a city that lives all year round. From June to September the Arena Opera Festival stages open-air operas in the largest open-air opera house in the world: Aida, Traviata, Nabucco, Carmen under the stars, 450 metres from the suite. An experience worth the trip, especially when you return to your private wellness after the show.
In autumn and winter the charm continues: the Christmas markets in Piazza Bra and Piazza dei Signori are among the finest in the Veneto, with wooden chalets, crafts and mulled wine. In November the Verona Marathon draws runners from across Europe. In February the Verona Carnival with the Bacanal del Gnoco, one of the oldest festivals in Italy, fills the streets with colour and gnocchi. In spring and summer, Piazza Bra hosts concerts, food festivals like Le Piazze dei Sapori, and neighbourhood fairs.
Whatever weekend you choose, Marcello is at the heart of it all: every event is within walking distance, you come back whenever you like, and the private wellness awaits with no schedule and no other guests. A Verona weekend, done right.
Everything worth knowing.
The wellness area is for the exclusive use of the guests of the Marcello Sleep & Spa suite: sauna, jacuzzi, shower and relaxation area are never shared with other guests.
The Arena is 450 metres from the suite, a 5-minute walk. Piazza Bra, Juliet's House and Via Mazzini are also just minutes away on foot.
No. Marcello Sleep & Spa is an adults-only property (guests must be 18 or over).
Check-in from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, check-out from 11:00 am to 11:30 am. Please let us know your expected arrival time in advance.
The suite is in a historic palazzo in the city centre, inside Verona's Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL). The property does not have its own parking, but a few minutes' walk away, outside the ZTL, so you can drive there at any time, there are two paid covered car parks: Parcheggio Centro and Parcheggio Cittadella. We recommend leaving your car there and walking the rest of the way.
The suite is designed for 2 adults and can be set up with a double bed or two single beds upon request.
No. Given the nature of the stay and the private wellness, pets are not allowed.
The independent entrance and the bedroom are on the ground floor, accessible at street level. The private wellness is on floor −1 and is reached via an internal wooden staircase, so it is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility. The property is accessible for guests with hearing impairment.
Yes. Marcello Sleep & Spa welcomes stays of one or more nights, from Monday to Sunday. Verona has a very different rhythm during the week: museums and restaurants without queues, the Arena almost empty in the morning, and the suite's private wellness is the perfect place to truly switch off. We recommend letting us know your dates in advance.
For an intimate experience, absolutely. From Monday to Thursday the city moves at a different pace: aperitivo in Piazza Erbe without booking, a quiet walk on Ponte Pietra at dawn, faster access to Castelvecchio and Juliet's House. It is also ideal for business travellers and for couples combining rest with a few days of remote work from the suite.
Yes. The suite has free high-speed Wi-Fi, an antique writing desk, sockets by the bed, a coffee machine and a Smeg minibar. Many guests choose Marcello for a few days of workation, alternating work upstairs and the private wellness on floor −1.
