Eleanora was an excellent host. Spotlessly clean and all refreshments are included. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for the operatic festival; the Arena is just a short walk away.

Things to do midweek

Six things that work better between Monday and Thursday.

Morning

Arena of Verona

Visit the city's iconic Roman amphitheatre without the Saturday 11am queue. Open from 9am, Tuesday to Sunday (Mondays too in summer).

Lunch

Local trattorie, no booking

Centre restaurants seat you without waiting. Vecio Macello and Leon d'Oro are a short walk from the suite.

Afternoon

Castelvecchio and its masterpieces

The civic museum holds Pisanello, Mantegna, Tintoretto and Veronese. Midweek: zero tour groups.

Sunset

Castel San Pietro in pink light

A 15-minute climb behind Ponte Pietra: the finest view of Verona. At sunset, midweek, it feels like yours alone.

Aperitivo

Piazza Erbe at dusk

A glass of Valpolicella at one of the historic osterias between Via Duomo and Piazza Erbe. The Verona ritual, without the crowd.

Evening

Back to the private wellness

Sauna, chromotherapy jacuzzi, no rush to clear the space. The wellness is yours until check-out.

Why midweek

A different Verona, Monday through Thursday.

Verona is beautiful on weekends, but it is also full. Between Monday and Thursday the same city becomes another place: aperitivo in Piazza Erbe without booking, the Roman Arena visited in minutes, a quiet walk on Ponte Pietra at dawn without meeting anyone. For a wellness stay or a romantic escape in the heart of the city, midweek is the way to go.

Marcello Sleep & Spa is a 66 m² suite with private wellness in the historic centre of Verona, 450 metres from the Arena. Independent entrance, no reception, no other guests: Finnish sauna, chromotherapy jacuzzi and Calacatta marble bathroom, only for you. A formula designed for two adults, ideal for couples and for anyone craving a true break without leaving Italy.

Our midweek guests often combine work and rest: they work from the antique writing desk in the morning, head down to the wellness in the afternoon, walk out for dinner in minutes. It is the Verona that weekend visitors never see.

Frequently asked questions

Everything worth knowing.

  • The wellness area is for the exclusive use of the guests of the Marcello Sleep & Spa suite: sauna, jacuzzi, shower and relaxation area are never shared with other guests.

  • The Arena is 450 metres from the suite, a 5-minute walk. Piazza Bra, Juliet's House and Via Mazzini are also just minutes away on foot.

  • No. Marcello Sleep & Spa is an adults-only property (guests must be 18 or over).

  • Check-in from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, check-out from 11:00 am to 11:30 am. Please let us know your expected arrival time in advance.

  • The suite is in a historic palazzo in the city centre, inside Verona's Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL). The property does not have its own parking, but a few minutes' walk away, outside the ZTL, so you can drive there at any time, there are two paid covered car parks: Parcheggio Centro and Parcheggio Cittadella. We recommend leaving your car there and walking the rest of the way.

  • The suite is designed for 2 adults and can be set up with a double bed or two single beds upon request.

  • No. Given the nature of the stay and the private wellness, pets are not allowed.

  • The independent entrance and the bedroom are on the ground floor, accessible at street level. The private wellness is on floor −1 and is reached via an internal wooden staircase, so it is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility. The property is accessible for guests with hearing impairment.

  • Yes. Marcello Sleep & Spa welcomes stays of one or more nights, from Monday to Sunday. Verona has a very different rhythm during the week: museums and restaurants without queues, the Arena almost empty in the morning, and the suite's private wellness is the perfect place to truly switch off. We recommend letting us know your dates in advance.

  • For an intimate experience, absolutely. From Monday to Thursday the city moves at a different pace: aperitivo in Piazza Erbe without booking, a quiet walk on Ponte Pietra at dawn, faster access to Castelvecchio and Juliet's House. It is also ideal for business travellers and for couples combining rest with a few days of remote work from the suite.

  • Yes. The suite has free high-speed Wi-Fi, an antique writing desk, sockets by the bed, a coffee machine and a Smeg minibar. Many guests choose Marcello for a few days of workation, alternating work upstairs and the private wellness on floor −1.
